We were interested to read a recent report by CB Richard Ellis which concluded that over the last 10 years over a million more people have chosen to rent private properties rather than buy property, which means the industry for Buy to Let Landlords is now a £500bn industry. CBRE also suggest that 73% of those properties are owned by individual buy-to-let landlords.
The reason for the above switch is that many ordinary Buyers are finding it difficult to purchase themselves with high deposits often demanded by lenders. This extra demand has meant investment in residential property is starting to have better returns that the commercial property market.
